Today is my birthday! I’m officially 30 now, which means I’m no longer in my 20’s. It feels a bit weird! I do think we put a bit more emphasis on age than necessary sometimes. I mean, it’s not like I really changed or aged much between yesterday when I was still in my 20’s and today. It’s still a bit of a surreal feeling though.
After a two month period, I have received another VoxBox from Influenster. This time it’s the L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Derm Intensives box, and I think it was worth the wait. I love skincare products, and I was excited to see that the two products in this box include serums with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C, which are important ingredients for your skin.
When I posted my latest BH Cosmetics haul post, I mentioned I wanted to do some makeup looks using my new palettes. I haven’t created any looks with the Foil Eyes palette yet, but yesterday I finally got around to creating a look using the Aurora Lights palette. That was my main source for the entire look. I did use the BH Cosmetics Naturally Flawless foundation (also featured in my haul post), Beach Rose blush from Pixi by Petra, and mascara from Grande Cosmetics. I used the Aurora Lights palette for both the eyes and lips. Although I did add a clear gloss over top of my lips in the last two photos just to see what it would look like, but I think I liked the look better without the gloss. I used the silver shade in the palette as a highlighter. I just love the bright shimmery colors in this palette. I want to create some more looks soon.
Since Halloween is on a weekday and I will be working, I celebrated over the weekend. My friend Christina had a Halloween party, so I went to that on Saturday. I didn’t get many pictures because my phone died super fast. It was 100% charged when I left the house, and within a couple hours it had died.
I didn’t have that much time to plan out a makeup look, so I just smeared some fake blood gel on my face (which took me 2 minutes) and went as a zombie. I was really impressed with this fake blood though. A few years ago, I bought some crappy fake blood that was really runny and didn’t look like the real thing at all. It was orange and stained my skin. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case this time. It actually looked like real blood, and it washed off super easily without leaving any color behind.
I was just sitting here thinking about the old blog scene in the mid-2000’s, and I thought it would be fun to share some things I remember from back then, good and bad.
⸙ Making your own layout graphics in Photoshop and then coding the layouts yourself using HTML coding. (Themes weren’t really a thing yet).
⸙ 8 pt. font and super skinny layout frames. (iframes were frequently used).
Another bag that was just okay. I haven’t gotten a bag where I really loved all of the products in quite a long time. Looking at the other products offered this month, there are so many I would have loved to have gotten. Ipsy really needs to let us pick which products we want each month. Or at least let us pick some of them. They say that they go by your beauty preferences and reviews in order to pick your products, but I honestly think the whole thing is just randomized. Especially since they send me similar shades and products over and over again, even when I said I don’t like something.
I grew up watching the original Charmed back in the 90’s and early 2000’s. It was one of my favorite shows, and I knew from the moment a reboot was announced that it would never be as good as the original. In fact, I had no plans to even watch it. I saw the trailer and was not impressed, but then something happened. Curiosity got the better of me. I was curious to find out what would be different in the reboot, what would be the same or similar, and find out exactly how bad the reboot really was.
