Awesome Blogger Award

I was nominated for the Awesome Blogger Award all the way back in August by EyeSeeSomething. (Yeah, I know I’m a little late getting to this). Thanks for the nomination! I was also just nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award by Joy, but I’ve already done that post here, so I’ll just link to it.

What is it?

This is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.

THE RULES OF AWESOME-NESS

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Tag it under #awesomebloggeraward in the Reader
  • Answer the questions your nominator gave you
  • Nominate at least 5 awesome bloggers.
  • Give your nominees 10 new questions to answer.
  • Let your nominees know that they’ve been nominated.

Now moving on to the questions:

How do you handle stress?
I hate to say it, but drinking alcohol really helps to relax me and take my mind off things. Aside from that, I also love curling up with blankets and pillows and watching my favorite TV shows or movies.

What is your comfort food?
Pizza. As good as it tastes, I also love the way you eat it with your hands.

Describe yourself in 3 words.
Introverted, Resilient, Loyal

What are your weaknesses?
I tend to let people take advantage of me. I’m also lazy and lacking in motivation.

What is your favorite book?
“Go Ask Alice”

If you could talk to your 18-year old self, what would you tell him/her?
Don’t believe any of his lies. Everything he says he would never do to you, he will do.

How do you see yourself 3 years from now?
Honestly, the years fly by so fast, that I don’t see anything being much different than they are now.

What is your favorite expression?
Don’t think I have one.

Who is your favorite blogger?
Hunida and Kittyp0p. I love reading about their lives, they are both beautiful, and I could see myself being friends with them in the real world. We’re also mutuals, so we read/comment on each others blogs, and it’s that sort of mutual connection that I’m really looking for in the blogosphere.

Favorite movie line?
“What’s your favorite scary movie?” – Scream

Oh my. I just answered all those questions when I realized that I answered the questions she received and not the questions that were given to me. *sigh* I guess this is what happens when I blog at 1:30 am after a long day of working. Welp, I might as well continue on and now answer the questions that were actually given to me. Sorry, this is going to be so long now.

If you were to be reincarnated as an animal? What would it be?
I think I would definitely be a cat. I can relate to them so much.

What is your favorite quote?
“With desire, focus, and the willingness to treat every obstacle as an opportunity, it’s amazing what you can accomplish.” – Mini’s First Time

What motivates you as a blogger?
My readers. Yes, I blog for myself because I enjoy it, but nobody wants to talk to a brick wall. Knowing that people actually care what I have to say is a motivator for me.

Best present you’ve ever received?
I got a karaoke machine when I was a little kid, and I honestly don’t think anything has topped that.

Name one item you never leave the house with except your clothes.
Is this supposed to say without? I never leave without my phone because you never know if there’s some emergency where you need to contact someone.

What is your least favorite social media platform and why?
I would probably say snapchat. I don’t have one and never got into that craze. It just seems silly to me, but maybe I’m just getting old.

What do you like and dislike about the blogging community?
This is a terrific question! I like the community aspect and how you can get to know other people. I also love how you can share a piece of yourself with the world and actually have people pay some sort of attention. What I don’t like is the people who seem to be in it for selfish reasons. The ones who only follow you to get a follow back and then instantly unfollow you, and those who do not engage with you or your blog, even when you comment on theirs. I also don’t necessarily like how “perfect” everything seems like it has to be in the blogging world these days. Back in the mid-2000’s when I started my first blog, nobody really had their own photographer or photos that looked like they could be in a magazine. Don’t get me wrong, I love looking at everyone’s beautiful photos. However, I think it also causes some people to feel like their blog is not good enough. I know because I struggle with that thought myself sometimes.

Tag your favorite blog post that you’ve written here.
10 Red Flags of a Toxic Relationship – This post didn’t get as much engagement as I hoped or expected, but it’s my favorite and such an important topic.

Name 5 things you like about yourself.
1- I like that I am good at spelling. I actually came in 3rd place in the county spelling bee when I was in 8th grade. I had to compete against all the winners of every other school in the county. I was disappointed I didn’t win, but coming in 3rd was still something I’m proud of. Spelling always seemed to come naturally for me from a young age. I remember being in 1st grade and being able to spell the word “leprechaun”, while we only had words half that size on our spelling tests.

2- I like the fact that I have never cheated in a relationship. Too many people these days do it like it’s nothing, so I like the fact that I’m loyal.

3- I like my eyes. They’re so pretty.

4- I like my open mindedness. I honestly feel so sad for people who live inside of a bubble and have such a problem with who someone chooses to date (whether it’s someone of the same sex or of a different race) or who think they can decide what’s best for a woman and her body.

5- My humility.

Nominees:
1. Hunida
2. Joy
3. Katelyn
4. Rossy

Here are my questions for you:

3. What is one thing about the blogging community that you would change?

6. Which is more important to you, beauty or fashion?
7. How would you describe your style?
8. Do you prefer Halloween or Christmas?

  1. I love how honest and interesting your answers are! I can definitely agree that the follow/unfollow technique is such a pain, because we should strive to build relationships rather than meaningless follows:( and I totally do not get Snapchat either hahah, I have it installed on my phone but never use it! Great post as always xox

  2. Loved reading this! Thank you for the nomination . . . I’m so behind on award tags but every time I sit down to write responses they come out so boring that I give up ;-; Loved your blogging pros and cons answer especially – very, very true on all points. I think we all sometimes feel like our blogs don’t compare to other people’s x

  3. Awww am I really one of your favorite bloggers?! You don’t know how much that means to me! Our connection is exactly what I search for on the blogosphere too. ❤️ Also, thank you so much for nominating me—I can’t wait to answer your questions, you came up with such fun ones! I have a few other ones to do but I’ll definitely get to this one ASAP!

Wow, we have so, so much in common. I love ‘Go Ask Alice’, I always say I’d choose to reincarnate into a cat if I had the choice, I never understood Snapchat, and I 100% agree with your pros and cons of blogging! 😄

  4. Congrats on this award love! And thanks so much for nominating me! I unfortunately don’t do blog awards on my blog anymore, but I’m more than willing to comment my answers so you can get to know me too lol. Also, I can’t believe how much you and I have in common, it’s almost too much to point every single thing out, lol! I love pizza, people take advantage of my kindness too, my readers motivate me and I don’t use snapchat either lol.
So I hope you don’t mind me answering your questions here, I’ll do my best to keep it short and brief lol.

    1. I like all kinds of music to be honest, I don’t really have a favorite but I do have a preference that changes quite often.
    2. I have a love/hate relationship with it the blogging community. I love it but I absolutely hate it when people just want followers and will do anything to get them. I’ve had people comment something that had nothing to do with my blog posts, so I knew they didn’t read them. That and the many people who go on what I call, “liking sprees”, which is when they like 3 or more posts within seconds (I have the WP app on my phone so I get notifications instantly). That tells me they don’t read my blog posts either. While I appreciate the likes, it can be a little frustrating and discouraging.. But then there are those who take time out of their day to read my posts and comment. When I see a regular commenting and liking my posts I end up paying more attention to them and I end up supporting them too. Many friendships have grown out of those instances and I wouldn’t have it any other way as they’ve all become great friends.
    3. I don’t think I would change anything. In my opinion the blogging community is pretty transparent, you know which people truly support you. Also, in my case, my growth has been pretty organic and that’s always a good thing.
    4. I like candles and incense the most.
    5. I have many bad habits…..lol
    6. I think beauty is more important to me, obviously that’s my main topic on my blog because it centers around makeup and skincare.
    7. My style? Pretty laid back, casual, comfy—girly mixed with tomboy lol.
    8. I think I prefer Christmas because it’s one of those few times a year when our families come together.
    9. I’ve learned many things from blogging, both personal and as a blogger. As a blogger, I’ve learned how to mature as a writer/photographer and how to make my blog better and more appealing (even though it is a hobby, not a business). Personally, I think I’ve learned perseverance, and gained lots motivation.
    10. I’ll go with lemonade because I tend to order that at restaurants the most.

Once again thanks so much and forgive me if my comment is a little long! 🙂 xx

    1. I understand. I don’t want to clutter my blog with awards, that’s why it took me 2 months to do this one. 😂 Thanks for answering my questions! I enjoyed reading them. I know what you mean about the likes sprees. I just had this happen recently too.

      1. Another thing you can do is have a blog awards post and post several at once, another blogger taught me that shortcut, lol. Yes, the post will be long, but you won’t be posting so many at once. I felt like I was spamming everybody when I was first doing them, posting them like once a week because that’s how many I had. Finally I said “enough” lol. I also found them a little time consuming to be honest, I actually wrote a post about why I decided not to do blog awards anymore LMAO
And stay strong girl! With time, people who like your blog will keep supporting you! 🙂
