The makeup bag this month is definitely one of my favorites. Though my camera makes it look a brighter red than it actually is, it has a nice lace design and a little bat on the zipper. It’s an awesome gothic-style bag that you can use year-round if you want. Although this style is one of my most favorites, I prefer the design of last year’s October bag, which is still my #1 favorite. If you’ve forgotten what that one looks like, you can see it here.
Hey Honey: Trick and Treat Concealer
I absolutely love this brand! I even did a whole post on their products before. I was definitely excited to find out that I would get to try yet another one of their products. However, I really do not use concealer all that much. I usually don’t have very dark circles under my eyes, and if I have blemishes I just cover them with bb cream, a color corrector, or foundation. Still though, I was definitely going to try this to see how I liked it. I’ve been using this underneath my eyes. The shade is definitely darker than my skin tone when I first apply it, but it blends super well while still providing excellent coverage. In fact, this is probably one of the best concealer’s I’ve ever used.
Smashbox: Lid Primer
I was so excited to find out I would be receiving this in my bag. It’s finally something a little different than the eyeliner’s, mascara’s, and lip balms I seem to receive a lot. I’ve tried Smashbox products before and was never disappointed. This lid primer is no exception. I’ve tried a couple other eyelid primer’s in other brand’s, but I definitely think this one is my favorite. When I use this and then apply eyeshadow, it makes the shadow look much more vibrant. It also allows for long-lasting wear.
JMsolution: Jelly Cleanser
This isn’t one of my most favorite cleanser’s, but it’s still decent. The smell is minimal, and it has a jelly-like texture. It removes makeup pretty well, and I like that it doesn’t burn horribly if I manage to get some in my eyes.
Urban Decay: Eyeliner
They sent me two of these by mistake. I can’t complain about getting something extra, though if they were going to send me two of something, I would have rather it been something else. I have so many eyeliners already. This one glides on super smooth, however it does smudge easily if you’re not careful. It’s a fatter style pencil, so it works best with using on the upper lid. It didn’t work too well when I tried to use it on my bottom lids. Since I prefer to wear eyeliner on the bottom, this pencil isn’t best suited for me. If I just want to wear eyeliner on my top lids only, then this pencil will definitely be great.
Marc Anthony: Coconut Oil & Shea Butter
I’ve tried quite a few different hair oils and they’ve all been great, but this one wasn’t one of my favorites. I only used 3 drops like the directions stated, but it made my hair slightly greasy. I’ll definitely stick with my other oils instead as I like those a lot better.
Sol Janeiro: Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
I redeemed some of my Ipsy points to get an extra product this month. I chose this bum bum cream, which is a lotion meant to smooth and tighten skin. While I do like the smell of this, it’s super strong. The first time I used it, it gave me a pounding headache. I find that because of that, I can only use a tiny little bit of this at a time. There’s no way I could use this on my arms or all over my body because the smell would be too overpowering. I have just been dabbing a tiny bit on my stomach, and I can literally smell it all day long.
