I was browsing around the Ulta website when I stumbled upon this Strawberry & Cream hair and body mist from Delectable. It sounded delightful, and I love things that smell like strawberry. Plus, the packaging is really cute and appealing. This spray was originally priced at $10 for a 4 oz. bottle, but it was on sale for $6. It is a vegan product and contains strawberry extract and aloe vera.
I thought someone was playing a joke on me when I first sprayed this. I usually spray into the air first to get an idea of the smell before I spray on my body. Well, I spritzed some of this into the air and started sniffing. I didn’t smell a thing. So I sprayed some more. Still nothing. I said, “Did someone just fill this bottle with water? What the hell!” I decided to take the whole lid off and see if I could smell anything that way. I could, albeit it was faint.
If you remember the Strawberry Shortcake dolls from the 80’s that smelled like strawberries, that is the best way to describe the smell of this spray. It was like an instant throwback to my childhood. I haven’t even smelled one of those dolls since I was a little kid, yet that popped into my head as soon as I got a whiff of this.
I sprayed this directly onto my skin and hair, and it didn’t leave behind any sticky residue which is good. You can smell the delightful strawberry scent, however you only seem to be able to smell it if you stick your nose right up to your skin or your hair right up to your nose. Even then, it’s a very light smell. I am disappointed in this because I was looking for a spray that I would be able to spritz on and smell throughout the day. It’s also not long lasting as I can only smell it for about an hour or so. That’s disappointing because it really is a great smell, when you can actually smell it. This product is not what I expected, and I would not purchase this again. It’s a shame too because this spray had the potential to be great.
