January Blogger Questionnaire: Winter & New Beginnings

522

I was reading a blog award post when I came up with this idea. I know that not all bloggers like to participate in awards because they don’t want to clog up their blog or it doesn’t fit in with their niche. Whatever the reason, I totally understand. I’ve done a few awards posts here on my blog, but I’ve also been nominated for many I haven’t done, just because it didn’t fit in with my posting schedule at the time.

Still, one of the great things about those awards is the questions that bloggers answer, which allows you to get to know them a little better. Now that a new year is upon us, I thought I might try something new here on my blog. Once a month, I would like to do one of these blogger questionnaire’s.

Basically, it will be where I post a set of questions, and you bloggers can answer them right here in the comments, if you wish. No need to post anything on your blog, and this can be a way for me to get to know my fellow bloggers even more, and it can also allow you the opportunity to get to know others. Blogging wouldn’t be as rewarding if it wasn’t for the community that comes along with it.

This month’s theme will be Winter & New Beginnings.

The questions:

● What is your favorite and least favorite thing about Winter?

● Does it snow where you live?

● Do you participate in any Winter activities? (Ex: skiing, snowboarding, etc.)

● How did you spend your New Years? (This includes NYE and New Years Day)

● Do you have any goals set for 2018?

● Is there anything new you would like to try out in 2018?

My answers will be in the comments.

  1. ● What is your favorite and least favorite thing about Winter?
My favorite thing is snow because it’s so pretty, but I also love that it’s cooler in my house so I can sleep better. My least favorite thing is when the temperature drops below 30 degrees.

    ● Does it snow where you live?
    Yes, every year.

    ● Do you participate in any Winter activities? (Ex: skiing, snowboarding, etc.)
Not usually. I used to love to go sledding, and I’ve been snow tubing, which is really fun. I would like to try skiing someday. I tried snowboarding once and was terrible at it.

    ● How did you spend your New Years? (This includes NYE and New Years Day)
I spent NYE by myself, listening to music, and creating the drawing in my last post. I also had some yummy steamed shrimp with Old Bay. New Year’s Day I ate pork & sauerkraut and watched shows on the ID channel the majority of the day.

    ● Do you have any goals set for 2018?
Just that I want to continue growing my blog.

    ● Is there anything new you would like to try out in 2018?
I would love to try some foods. Preferably healthy options. I see some vegan bloggers posting recipes that look so good. I want to try some of them.

    Sometimes
    ● Do you participate in any Winter activities? (Ex: skiing, snowboarding, etc.)
No I don’t but I wish I had the confidence to!

I worked a 14 hour shift on NYE and I worked 7.5 hour shift on New Years day
    ● Do you have any goals set for 2018?
I have some things I want to accomplish in my fiat blog, they include completing my level 2 in care and to read at least 5 books

I want to try out something completely new, I am not sure what yet!

Thanks for the fun quiz xxxx

    1. I just love bundling up in blankets too and getting all cozy to watch TV/movies. It’s about 10 degrees warmer in my house in the summer, so I can’t bundle up the way I like. Aw no, that’s too bad you had to work on both NYE and New Year’s. 😦 Thanks for answering my questions! 😀

      1. Me too! I love wrapping myself up! I wish my house was hot in the summer, English weather is not great 😔 I didn’t mind working the new year period because I love my job but I hope I will have next year off 🤔
        Your welcome xx

  4. Love this idea!

    ● What is your favorite and least favorite thing about Winter?
Favorite thing: My birthday is in winter. Least favorite thing: The weather–it’s so cold right now!

    ● Does it snow where you live?
Yes! It snows too much, in my opinion.

    ● Do you participate in any Winter activities? (Ex: skiing, snowboarding, etc.)
No… If I were ever to end up at a ski resort or whatever, I’d be the stereotypical girl that hangs out at the lodge spa sipping on wine and getting a massage. The closest winter activity I do to skiing and snowboarding is sledding, but I haven’t done that since the 90s. 😂

    ● How did you spend your New Years? (This includes NYE and New Years Day)
I spent New Year’s Eve with my boyfriend; we just watched the ball drop and drank champagne. I had to work New Year’s Day, which absolutely sucked.

    ● Do you have any goals set for 2018?
Yes! I decided to set short-term goals for each month instead of the full year because I felt like that was more achievable. If you’re interested in reading them, I posted January’s goals here (too many to go into detail here): https://dearblogloveliz.wordpress.com/2018/01/01/goals-for-january-2018/

    ● Is there anything new you would like to try out in 2018?
Hmmm… Probably cooking more for myself instead of eating out all of the time.

  6. Happy New Year!
My favorite thing about winter is no more bugs, and my least favorite thing is trying to get my crap car to drive in snow.
So from that, yes, it does snow where I live haha
I like snow tubing, but I’ve never tried skiing or snowboarding before.
I spent New Years Eve this year with my boyfriend, at home in our apartment. New Years Day was pretty much a day to relax and clean up all the Christmas stuff!
I do have a few goals for 2018 and I think I’m going to list them in an upcoming post…
The new thing I’m trying out this year is digital art (:

It barely snows here, it did on Christmas Eve, but disappeared soon after!
I don’t really like going outside in the winter ahaha.
I spent New Years Eve & Day playing Cards Against Humanity with my mom and boyfriend! Also, just eating good food and hanging out!
My 2018 goals are pretty much to make friends, keep up blogging, write in my spare time, and try to do some yoga!

My least favourite thing is that it’s so easy to catch a bug, especially when my broken immune system.

No. I’m too worried I’ll injure myself. Haha.

    ● How did you spend your New Years? (This includes NYE and New Years Day)
I spent NYE having fireworks thrown at me while cycling to a friend’s place (Welkom in Nederland!), playing board games, and eating from a little table BBQ. I slept for most of NYD.

    ● Do you have any goals set for 2018?
Not anything solid, but I would like to blog at least semi-regularly, continue to learn Dutch, get my health under control, and hopefully adopt a pupper!

    ● Is there anything new you would like to try out in 2018?
The same thing I wanted to try last year but couldn’t: roller derby!

      1. It’s frustratingly difficult to learn Dutch in particular because everyone speaks English here. If you try to say something in Dutch and they don’t understand what you’re saying, you switch to English to make it easier but then the rest of the conversation is in English. Lol.

    — I’m definitely a sun-worshiper, so my least favorite thing about Winter would be the shorter days and daylight, as well as the cold!

    ● Does it snow where you live?
    — YES! It just snowed this week, we only got about 5 inches but everyone is saying that this is going to be our worst winter in a while!

    ● Do you participate in any Winter activities? (Ex: skiing, snowboarding, etc.)
    — I ski, last winter I *attempted* to snowboard and was terrible. I fell more than I stood up, so by the end of the two days I traded my snowboard back in for a pair of skis! Maybe one day I’ll try snowboarding again!

    ● How did you spend your New Years? (This includes NYE and New Years Day)

    — Hmm, I’m definitely looking forward to traveling more this year. It’s something that I’ve neglected for awhile, so I’m looking forward to exploring the country this year!

    1. 5 inches of snow is still a good bit. We’ve only gotten dustings here so far. It keeps missing us for some reason. That’s how it was when I tried snowboarding too. It’s so hard!
