Magenta

I had Friday off work because I had to wake up at 5:30 am to take my mom to a medical appointment. She was being put under anesthesia, so she couldn’t drive. I’m usually just going to sleep between 4 and 5 am, so I wasn’t too happy about this. I had requested the day off work (even though I’m not scheduled until 2 pm) because I figured afterwards I would come home and sleep most of the day.

Surprisingly, I didn’t feel much like going to sleep once I got home. I drank an energy drink and then I decided to go get my hair done because it really needed it. I didn’t really know for sure what I wanted done, so I kind of just made up my mind when I got there. I was thinking about just getting my blonde touched up, but I also mentioned possibly wanting to go pink again. My stylist was really excited about that because she said she hadn’t got to do pink hair in years. She said everyone seems to want blue or purple hair. I actually did almost go blue too, but I decided against it since when it fades it usually leaves a greenish tint to your hair.

I went pink in February of last year, and you can see my post about it here. It was a little bit lighter. I went with a darker and more vibrant color this time since I knew it would last a bit longer. The color I chose is called Magenta. The color I had last time was called Wild Orchid, but it faded out within a couple weeks. That’s why I was hesitant to go this route again because color always fades out of my hair really fast. I even do things to help it last longer like not washing my hair as much, and taking lukewarm showers (as opposed to hot showers, which I prefer). Sometimes I just want a change though, even if it only lasts a short time. My hair looks slightly darker when I’m indoors, but in the sunlight it’s really bright. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

  1. What’s so crazy (in a good way) is how real the color looks. If I didn’t know your real hair color, I could totally swear light pink is normal for you. You look better than when Pink and Gwen Stefanie had pink hairdos. Yours looks so natural, I’m sure part of that is due to your hairstylist, but the other part is due to your awesome hair!

    1. I don’t think pink hair is natural. haha! But yes, due to my hair already being slightly different shades, when the color is applied, it ends up having a highlighted or streaky effect, which does look more natural. As opposed to every single strand being the exact same color.

  2. I love it!! My manager’s just given me the go-ahead to dye my hair a crazy colour and I was thinking of going pink but I might change my mind now… don’t want to copy you. :3

It looks really nice. The shade isn’t easy to pull off because it’s a bit of a cold pink but you definitely rock it. VERY nice.

    1. lol Feel free. I don’t own the color pink. πŸ˜› That’s why I was nervous about it because I tend to look good in lighter colors (blonde or pastels) as opposed to bold or dark colors, but thankfully it turned out nice. πŸ™‚

And that’s good that you can dye your hair if you want. I’m glad I have a job that allows me too as well. It really grinds my gears when places of employment don’t allow things like dyed hair, piercings, and tattoos. People should be able to express themselves however they want.

    1. Color fades so fast, which is why I usually like to stick with blonde because it lasts much longer. I wish I could just wear wigs though because then I could have a different style and color every day if I wanted. πŸ˜› (I have nowhere to store wigs though, sadly).

  3. Love it! I’m hoping to dye my hair sometime this month too. Already got a color in mind but I also don’t wanna use bleach soooo, I’m hoping that even if it’s a dark shade, it looks good lol.
Anyway, love it. Pink suits you.

  4. Britney I’m OBSESSED with this on you! Ahhhh you look so good! I don’t think I could ever pull this off so I’m living vicariously through your amazingness haha. It’s so bright! Also, I don’t know how you can stay up so late haha. I try to get blogging in after work and then 9PM hits and I’m exhausted. I need some of your nighttime energy!

  5. Wow, you’re looking absolutely stunning Britney, pink hair was made for you! Such a pink queen of paradise. I love your coat too, it goes perfectly with your hair. So vibrant and fun and beautiful 😍 Magenta is magical and you’re all the gorgeous hair goals! I’ve always wanted to do pink hair like this but haven’t bitten the bullet yet. You’re definitely an inspiration and hopefully one day I’ll go for it haha. I feel you on being a night owl too, I swear my inspiration leaves me in the daytime and always reappears at night! ❀

  6. Woah! Such a gorgeous and vibrant color!! I Hear a lot of about how coloring to bright colors fade so quickly, but you could use certain shampoos or treatment to keep the colors for a bit longer… Hope you’ll be able to keep it vibrant for the beginning of spring though!! Looks great on you!

    1. Thanks! They do fade pretty fast though. It’s been 5 days so far, and my color is still very bright, but I’ve only washed my hair once so far. I usually wash 3 times a week, but since getting this color done, I’m trying to only wash twice a week.

  7. Your hair looks sooo pretty! It looks nice with your skin tone too. I doubt magenta would look good on me during the summer when I get really tan (that happens whether I wear sunscreen or not).
