September Glam Bag

This glam bag was definitely better than last month’s bag, which I’m happy about. There was some small disappointment with shade selections though, which Ipsy is notorious for. I will get into that in a bit.

The bag
I’m not a big fan of this bag, although it has grown on me a little bit. I just feel like the last couple bags have been pretty boring, like not much thought or planning went into the design. I do like the quote on the inside of the bag though.

Hempz: Herbal Whipped Body Cream
This is one of my favorite products this month, and one of my favorites I’ve gotten from Ipsy altogether. I really wish they would send out more lotions. It was a nice change getting something different instead of the usual products. I’ve used Hempz brand lotion before and loved it, so I knew I would probably love this too. It is grapefruit and peach scented and smells amazing. Oddly enough, I do not like grapefruits or peaches when it comes to eating them, but I’m okay with the smell of them. This lotion leaves my skin feeling soft, and it absorbs relatively fast without any greasy residue left behind. I love that! The only issue I’m having is that it’s sometimes a little hard to squeeze the lotion out because of its thick texture.

Marc Anthony: Bye Bye Frizz Miracle Treatment
This is my favorite product this month! I received the Marc Anthony coconut hair oil in a previous bag and really liked it, so I was looking forward to trying this. My hair is always frizzy, and it has been really bad this summer with the high humidity. I have to put countless products on my hair each day to try to manage it, and even then my hair is still frizzy. While I was excited to try this, I didn’t have super high expectations. I was simply blown away! It has a bland smell, but it works amazingly. I used this deep conditioner in the shower and then blow dried my hair, and I couldn’t believe how soft and smooth it looked and felt. I couldn’t stop touching my hair all day! I wish I could use this every time I wash my hair, but it says to use once a week. Without a doubt, I am definitely going to be buying the full size product once I use this up.

Smashbox Cosmetics: Photo Finish Primerizer
This is probably one of the better primers I’ve used. Although I didn’t notice any minimizing of pores, which it supposedly does, it did leave my skin feeling hydrated. I also noticed that my makeup applies really smoothly when I put this on beforehand.

Trust Fund Beauty: Nail Polish (in shade Kiss Kiss Darling)
I actually have not gotten around to painting my nails with this yet, although I’m hoping to get around to it soon. I did receive a nail polish from this brand in a previous bag and really liked it. Ipsy was offering two shades of this polish this month. This one and shade Mermaid Vibes, which was a shimmery teal and purple shade. I really wanted the Mermaid Vibes shade, but as always, Ipsy sent me the other shade instead. It seems like whenever they offer two shades of a product, I always receive the one I didn’t want. Ipsy seems to love sending me reds too. This shade is starting to grow on me though. I actually really do like the color, and it’s great for Fall.

Winky Lux: Eyeshadow (in shade Ursula)
I haven’t gotten to try anything from Winky Lux until now. I’ve seen a couple other bloggers post about their products, so I was happy I was able to try something. However, I’m not very fond of the shade. I generally don’t like wearing dark colored eyeshadows. The texture of this was pretty good. There was a small amount of fallout, but it wasn’t a whole lot. I absolutely love the packaging this came in. I think it’s so cute! I doubt I will use this that often though because the color just isn’t really for me. I would like to try some more of their stuff though.

  1. aww, you got the winky lux eyeshadow! I haven’t used it yet but it’s a great Halloween colour isn’t it? I haven’t tried the hair treatment yet either but I will. I don’t shampoo my hair as often anymore. The lotion looks amazing and trust fund nail polish is always a normal size bottle. You can always paint your toenails red πŸ™‚ I didn’t get a primer but I got a lot of Smashbox primers from Topbox. (a Canadian beauty subscription box). You know? I didn’t even notice that text quote inside the bag? That’s cool. I probably never would have noticed. I stash them all away in a drawer.

    1. I have my bags stashed in a drawer as well. haha I’m running out of room to put them though. My toenails are going to need painted again soon, so I think I will paint them with the red. πŸ™‚

  2. Loved reading this! I am surprised by how much is in the glam bag- I agree- I don’t ever wear shades that dark, BUT maybe it would be a good smokey eye for a night out sorta shade? Mixed into the corners of the eye lid? Thanks for this review, girl!

    1. Sorry I’m just now seeing your comment. It was sent to spam, and sometimes I forget to check that. πŸ˜› You’re totally right. It’s definitely a shade to just mainly use for the corners to do a smokey eye. Of course, I don’t really go on night’s out because I’m a homebody. πŸ˜› Sometimes I still like to do a smokey eye though. πŸ™‚

      1. no worries!!! Ugh! Hate when my comments do that. Comen’ wordpress!

And same with me too- I like to put on a smokey eye on date nights with my husband mostly!

  3. Awe, I actually think the bag is so cute! It was nice that they mixed it up a bit with a lotion, peach & grapefruit sounds like such a lovely scent. The nail polish looks beautiful– it’s so upsetting when the other shade offered is more your style but, you’re right, the red is perfect for fall! β™‘ Winky Lux always has the cutest packaging! I bet the shade would suit you well. πŸ™‚
