I really shouldn’t have, but I did. BH Cosmetics recently had a good sale that I couldn’t pass up, so I bought myself some new goodies. Time to show you guys what I got! I haven’t tried the products yet except for the lip creams and the foundation, so I can’t really say what I think of most of the products yet. I have several other palettes from BH Cosmetics that I absolutely love though, so hopefully these live up to that. I definitely plan to do some makeup looks soon using some of these products, so keep your eye out for those.
The products I got:
Aurora Lights – 18 color palette
Foil Eyes – 28 color palette
Lip Liners – shades Sandy, Muse, and Samantha
Liquid Linen lip cream – shade Natalie
BH Liquid Lipstick – shade Tabitha
BH Liquid Foundation – shade Ivory
Flawless Brow Highlighter
I already have the Galaxy Chic palette and the Solar Flare palette, so of course I couldn’t pass up the Aurora Lights palette. Just look how gorgeous and shimmery these colors are! This palette has a really strong acrylic smell though when you open it up. I’ve never had that happen with any of my other makeup before. Maybe it’s more freshly made? I don’t know. I did google it, and someone posted on BH Cosmetics forums with the same problem, and they said it is still safe to use. I sure hope so.
I ended up spotting the Foil Eyes palette also, and although I don’t really need it, I ended up getting it anyway. I liked that it had a combination of neutral shades and colors. I didn’t really need the brow highlighter, but I only needed to add a dollar to my total to get free shipping, so I picked that since it was really cheap. I’m curious to try it out.
I haven’t used foundation in a long time because I’ve been using BB creams. However, I’m almost out and so I figured I would try this one. I absolutely love it! Not only is it pale enough to actually match my skin tone, but it doesn’t even really feel like I have foundation on when I’m wearing it. I actually stopped using foundations because I hated how heavy most of them felt. Plus, they would always end up looking kind of cakey on my face. This one blends easily and still provides good coverage, and it doesn’t leave a nasty greasy feeling on my face. This is seriously the best foundation of the ones I’ve tried so far.
I tried on the two lip creams, but I’m not super crazy about them. I like the liquid linen one the best, although I do think the shade is a bit light for me, since I have such a pale skin tone. It doesn’t look totally terrible though.
I absolutely do not like the Tabitha lip cream, and I will probably never wear it. For starters, the wand came somewhat damaged, so it’s harder to apply. Secondly, the formula of this one made it sink into my lips, which really showed the cracks in my lips. It’s not as noticeable in the photo (I think because my camera softened it a bit), but in real life it looked much worse. Also, the color of this one was much more of a bright pink shade than I was expecting. I do not look good in bright pinks at all. The website made it look more of a paler pink/mauve shade. To say I’m disappointed in this product is an understatement. I know it’s hard to get the shades exact, but this is way off. I did check the bottom of the lip cream to make sure it was the shade I ordered and it does say Tabitha on it. Hopefully the lip liners will work out better for me than these lip creams did.
