Since Halloween is on a weekday and I will be working, I celebrated over the weekend. My friend Christina had a Halloween party, so I went to that on Saturday. I didn’t get many pictures because my phone died super fast. It was 100% charged when I left the house, and within a couple hours it had died.
I didn’t have that much time to plan out a makeup look, so I just smeared some fake blood gel on my face (which took me 2 minutes) and went as a zombie. I was really impressed with this fake blood though. A few years ago, I bought some crappy fake blood that was really runny and didn’t look like the real thing at all. It was orange and stained my skin. Thankfully, that wasn’t the case this time. It actually looked like real blood, and it washed off super easily without leaving any color behind.
I’m glad we were able to have a fire this year! Last year it was too windy. I didn’t get cold at all standing by it. Of course then I smelled like smoke until the next day when I was able to shower. Too bad we didn’t have any s’mores. Although, I did munch down on the Dill Pickle Pasta Salad and Nachos that two of the attendees made. They are favorites of mine, so I have to relish any chance I get to eat the deliciousness.
Since I wasn’t home on Saturday night to watch movies like I usually do, I did so on Sunday. (I usually like to watch movies on Saturday and then TV shows on Sunday, but sometimes exceptions are made based on my mood or activities).
I know Friday the 13th has nothing to do with Halloween and actually takes place in the Summer, but it had been a while since I watched the original, and I was in the mood for older movies.
Of course then I had to follow up with John Carpenter’s Halloween. It doesn’t feel like Halloween unless I watch this at least once. After I finished that one, I closed the night out with Scream, which is my favorite horror movie. I didn’t take a picture of that one though. I just realized that I watched one movie from the 70’s, one from the 80’s, and one from the 90’s. I didn’t even plan it that way.
So that’s about it for my Halloween festivities. Trick or Treat is happening in my town, but unfortunately I work evenings so I won’t be able to give out candy.
What all did you do over the weekend, and are you doing anything else for Halloween?
Your makeup is so good!!

The dill pickle pasta salad is seriously so delicious! You should try it for one of your recipe reviews. Although it has cheese/dairy in it, so not sure you can have it? Maybe you can substitute ingredients. I’ve been wanting to try to make it myself sometime.

Ooh, I bet there’s a dairy-free version out there somewhere. 😉 I’m gonna look it up, sounds so tasty!!

Even though you didn’t get much pictures from the Halloween party, at least you had fun when you went. I like the creativity you put in with your makeup! Glad you enjoyed your time with the party!

I also attended a kickass Halloween party, and was a minimalist as well- with a two-tone plastic mask and a pirate hat, which kept falling off. It’s all good, though. Halloween Night was as low-key as one would expect a school night to be.

Sounds like such a fun Halloween weekend! I’m glad you were still able to celebrate at a party since you were working on Halloween itself. The fake blood looks great!! Also, how fun that you guys were able to have a fire!!
