Happy New Year! (Weekly Photo Roundup #8)

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and New Years. My Christmas went okay, but my New Years Eve didn’t completely go as planned. I’ll get to that in a bit. I’m going to share some photos from around Christmas time to now.

Right before Christmas, I ordered a pizza from King’s, which is one of my favorite places. I’m only sharing this because of how delicious this looks. Seriously, every time I look at this photo my mouth waters. I love ordering half and half pizza’s because I like having a variety of flavor. I’ve never been one to order pepperoni pizza too often, but it’s started to grow on me recently. My favorite pizza toppings are ham, onions, green peppers, and jalapenos though.

I spent Christmas Eve at my dad’s house with his side of the family, like usual. We ate shrimp and opened gifts. I didn’t really take any photos, but I had fun. On Christmas morning, my mom and I opened gifts and then had breakfast. This is the only day of the year that we have a nice breakfast like this and eat together. I’m usually never awake in the morning. I always look forward to this breakfast because it’s so delicious!

I didn’t really take photos of most of what I got for Christmas, but I did have to take a picture of my new slippers. They are hamburger slippers! I love them so much!

I also got this candle for Christmas, which smells just like hot chocolate. Smelling it will definitely make your mouth water for a cup.

We had our Christmas dinner in the evening. Ham, baked macaroni and cheese, and green bean casserole. We had never had green bean casserole before, but I’ve seen so many people eating it around the holiday’s, so I wanted to try it. It was delicious. The ham got a tad bit overcooked, but it was still pretty good. The mac and cheese was so scrumptious!

I bought these face masks on Amazon as a present to myself. This whole set of 12 masks was only $11! That’s less than a dollar per mask. I used the peppermint one so far and loved it. I can’t wait to try the others.

It wouldn’t be the holiday’s without Hickory Farms! I seriously love their food so much! I already ate everything in this set already. I still have a little of the sriracha mustard left though. It was so good!

On Friday, I stopped at Brother’s Pizza on the way home from work and got this shrimp quesadilla. This was my first time ordering this from there, and it was so delicious and massive! The photo doesn’t do it justice. It had shrimp, cheese, tomato, onions, and jalapenos inside. It also came with a side of salsa and sour cream. I couldn’t even eat the whole thing at once.

Last night was New Years Eve, and I spent it with my mom, dad, and aunt. We had shrimp and other snacks. Everything was delicious! The rest of the night was a bit of a bust though. My dad does not know how to control and pace his drinking. On top of drinking beer, he does shot after shot of moonshine. I hate when he drinks that stuff! He gets too drunk too fast and just gets annoying. Plus, we were supposed to watch movies, but my mom and aunt ended up falling asleep upstairs. My dad and I were in my basement watching a movie he’s been wanting to see, and he only made it through half of it before passing out. He woke back up right after midnight and grabbed his beer and took a drink of it. Instead of putting it back where it was sitting, he sat it on the floor. I said, “Move that beer, it’s going to get spilled sitting there!” He said it was fine and laid back down to go back to sleep. Before I had a chance to grab the beer myself, he knocked a pillow off of my futon and knocked the beer over, spilling it all over my pillow, floor, and my rug. I was so mad! So the first 30 minutes of the new year I spent cleaning up spilled beer. I tried to get the beer smell out the best I could, but my rug still smells like beer. Ugh!

Today I’ve just been in a bad mood and I can’t seem to shake it. For starters, it took me way longer to do this post than it should have because the internet connection on my computer kept cutting on and off while I was trying to upload and post the photos in this post. Now I have to get ready and do some laundry, which I really don’t feel like doing but it has to be done.

2018 was such a good year for me, and 2019 has already started out not so great. Hopefully the rest of the year will be better.

EDIT: As I was carrying my laundry downstairs to be washed, I tripped and fell down the stairs. I didn’t get hurt and actually laughed about it, but man… it has been a day.

    1. Thank you so much! I’ve had this logo/header for such a long time now. I was changing them sporadically, but when I made this one I fell in love with it and haven’t changed it since. 😛

  1. Aw Britney, I’m so sorry to hear about how your New Year started out!! That totally suck that your dad spilled beer all over your pillow, rug, and floor. I hate the smell of beer, so I can imagine how upsetting that would be–especially since you had mentioned moving the beer to him. And then falling down the stairs!! Wow I don’t blame you at all for being in a bad mood. O.O What a day! Hopefully today has gone better for you. ❤
Your Christmas sounds absolutely lovely, though!! I'm surprised you'd never tried green bean casserole before. It's my favorite Thanksgiving dish for certain. It doesn't feel like Thanksgiving without it to me, haha. I'm so glad you liked it!! Also that baked mac & cheese looks divine. Oh and that was an amazing deal for the masks!!

  3. Your Christmas dinner looks amazing! Mac and cheese isn’t often on Christmas dinners where I live, but I wish it was. That would be soooo amazing with the ham. And that pizza you had looks gorgeous too. I always go half and half, even if I’m eating by myself, ‘cos it means I get to try more flavours.

I love your new slippers. They’re so cute!

Sorry to hear about your New Year’s Eve. Hope things start getting better for you soon and you have a lovely 2019!

My neighbor literally gave me that candle and it smells really good but I only light one wick otherwise the scent is too strong and I’m not too fond of sweet smells lol.
I’m sorry that your year started off really crappy, but hopefully the rest of your year will be great. 😁 happy new year!

I love green bean casserole, too! & What a deal you got on those masks! The shrimp quesadilla sounds so wow!

I am so sorry about your new year’s… I hate that some people just over drink and don’t even realize it. I hope the beer smells fades away soon. ♡

    1. I love food & drink scents, although then they make you want the real thing. 😛 I was burning the Blueberry Maple Pancakes candle that I got for my birthday last night and it smells wonderful. I also have a Netflix & Chill candle that I bought for myself but haven’t burned yet, which smells like buttered popcorn. Mmm. Unfortunately the shop I bought that one from is getting ready to close soon, unfortunately. I saw their post the other day and apparently they are re-branding and opening a new shop on Etsy. They showed some previews of some of the new shop items, and I was quite disappointed. Everything was so bland and generic looking. It had a more ‘upscale’ look, but again there was nothing that stood out that would make me want to buy the new stuff. Their current shop is so unique because it’s centered around mostly horror movie themed candles and wax melts, and they also have movie theater, Netflix, and Blockbuster candles/melts/scents. I can’t believe they’re getting rid of something unique to create something that just blends in with the crowd.

      1. Blueberry Maple Pancakes?! Oh my gosh, don’t even need to smell that to wanna eat it LOL. Mmm… I wanna smell that Netflix & Chill one. Sounds super interesting. That’s SO disappointing about the shop closing up and changing. Especially into a generic old shop like everyone else! But maybe they’ll have a huge deal on all of their old, unique items?!
