Weekly Photo Roundup #9

You may have noticed that I’m blogging less and less lately. I just don’t have the time or motivation to blog consistently like I used to. However, I don’t really want to give up blogging completely either. I definitely appreciate each and every one of you who still drop by my blog and check out my posts, even when I disappear for almost a month.

Check out my nose ring! I’ve always wanted one of these. It’s not real though. I bought a set of fake ones on Amazon. The set came with a silver, black (which I’m wearing in this photo), blue, mixed color gradient, and two gold ones. I actually had my nose pierced for real back when I was around 19/20, but I only had a stud in. I never got to put in a nose ring because the piercing ended up getting infected and I had to remove it. I thought about getting my nose pierced again, but I figured the same thing might happen. Plus, it was annoying when I would wash and dry my face and accidentally bump it, or when I had to blow my nose. (You would have to clean off the booger crusties too. Ew. lol)

Anyone else take selfies with their cat? lol What’s funny is he never lays on the couch like this unless I’m on or near the couch. I was taking photos and he had to come insert himself, so I took my opportunity to take a selfie with him. I love how he’s posing.

I LOVE neon lighting, and sometimes I like to play around with it for photos. I ended up taking this one and loved how vampy it turned out. The blue hues on my skin mixed with my red lips and red background looks pretty cool, I think. Plus, my moon tapestry adds to the effect.

Cameron looks so majestic here! I just love him, and look how pretty his blue eyes are with the pink blanket! He looks so good in pink, even though he’s a boy.

I took a few sky pictures while I was on my work break last week. I always love how cool the clouds can look. Especially when one part of the sky is clear, and then another part has darker/ominous looking clouds.

Every weekend is a movie night for me. There’s nothing I enjoy more than relaxing in my basement, having some drinks, and watching movies. Nerve came out in 2016, but for some reason I just recently heard of it. I bought it on Blu-ray without having ever seen it. (I do this quite a bit. Anyone else?) I watched it on Saturday and really enjoyed it. Some suspension of disbelief is necessary because some of the scenes aren’t the most believable. However, it’s still an entertaining movie. Plus, I love neon aesthetic! The way the movie was shot, with use of neon lighting, is terrific. I love movies that are shot like that. (Spring Breakers and The Neon Demon are a couple other movies that use neon lighting).

I always finish the night off by eating a snack or a meal. In this case, a delicious chef salad. It was so good too! The only thing I like better than watching movies is watching movies while eating! Playing on the screen is Halloween 2018. I love that movie. I’ve seen it a bunch of times already. My screen looks so small in this picture though. It’s actually 100 inches. Camera’s always make screens looks small for some reason.

Now that I’ve gotten the good stuff out of the way, time for the bad. Last Friday (the 15th), I was in a car accident on my way home from work. Nothing major, thankfully, but it’s still upsetting. The accident happened on the road that I work on, so I barely even made it out of work before someone hit me. There was the left turning lane, straight lane, and the right turning lane. I was in the straight lane, and I noticed there was a truck in the right lane. There was also an SUV in the left lane. We were pretty much side by side, but he was slightly ahead of me. All of a sudden, I see him coming over into my lane! I started to swerve as a reflex, but I remembered there was a truck in the lane to the right of me, and I didn’t want to hit him. I tried to avoid being hit, but it was inevitable. He struck me on the side.

I’ve had my car for 6 years, and I still love it. One of my favorite things about it is the bright green color. It’s so pretty! I was (and still am) pretty upset about my precious car. Anyway, the guy who hit me was an Uber driver and even had passengers in his car at the time. He gave me his insurance information, which is through Allstate. I called my insurance, State Farm, on Monday and filed a claim. I didn’t hear anything back for the whole week, so I was kind of wondering what was going on and why it was taking so long.

Well, I got home from work last night and had a letter in the mail from Allstate. To sum up what it said, they won’t be paying for the damages to my car because their insured party was driving for Uber at the time of the accident. I was so mad when I read that. I was like, “Are you freaking kidding me?” So now I guess I’m going to have to call my insurance back on Monday and tell them about this and see what I need to do from here. I’m guessing Uber or their insurance will have to be responsible for paying to fix my car now. However, Uber’s insurance (John Rivers Insurance) has a 1.4 star rating! Lots of people saying they don’t want to pay out or won’t give you enough to cover full damages. I can tell right now that this is going to be a complete hassle! Why is it always the driver not-at-fault that has to go through all this mess? All I know is someone better be paying for it because I’m not going to be out of money for an accident that wasn’t even my fault.

  1. Oh my gosh, that totally sucks about your car! I’ll be crossing my fingers and hoping for you that State Farms works it out. Somebody better pay because it wasn’t your fault at all. Uber or not doesn’t matter lol. In fact I feel like that would make them more accountable to pay.
Love the nose ring by the way! Too cute. I didn’t know you could get fake ones like that!

      1. Hopefully they are super helpful about it! We have State Farm too, so I’m interested in how this turns out for you for sure. There’s no reason why you shouldn’t be covered.

  2. Hey Brittany! We all go through those phases of life— there was a time a couple summers back where I blogged maybe once a month- it’s totally normal & we will be here whenever you feel like poppin in  ! LOVE your nose ring- sooo cute on you! I had no idea you could buy fake ones like that?! I am gonna need to look into this… cause now I want one haha. Your kinda weekend sounds like the best kinda weekend!

I am sooo sorry about your car accident but really glad youre okay ❤ That’s NUTS though about the whole uber insurance situation… what a bizarre thing to happen & there needs to be a better protocol for when that happens on Uber’s side. Hopefully it gets sorted out asap. Thanks for the update, girl. Hope this week is off to a good start for you!

  3. Sorry about your car, it does always end up being like that, the driver who was at no fault ends up paying for the damage. And that sucks that uber isnt going to be willing to pay out.
On another note, your kitty is soo cute and he totally looks cute in pink! I hope you have a better week! And also, I hope you dont stop blogging even if you do disappear for a while 😊

  4. Cameron is so beautiful! I love your selfie with him! ♡ I think the nose ring looks great on you but yeah, when I had my septum pierced, it was the worst hitting my nose even a little. 😭

Eating while watching a movie is seriously the best, ever. I have to agree!

But oh no!! I didn’t know that it was an Uber driver who hit you. I’ve heard so much hassle with the insurance & stuff with them! I hope someone pays for your damages ASAP.

    1. Yes, it’s been almost 2 weeks & I haven’t even gotten to the point of getting estimates yet. I’ve been trying to communicate with Uber’s insurance, but we are currently playing phone tag. It’s hard with my work schedule ugh.

  5. A few months after I got my nose pierced, I got a bump, but after doing a few salt water soaks, it cleared up. I haven’t had any issues since. The only thing that bothers me are the dried boogers, but it’s literally became something I’ve grown used to, and it’s become a part of me.

Uber needs to be held responsible for their accident. That’s so stupid that they aren’t doing anything. I hope you get this resolved!!

I don’t blog much either anymore. I often wonder why I invest so much money into something that I barely use, but I also enjoy having my own little corner of the internet.
