Hey, guys! Long time, no post. I’ve been wanting to share my story since I first experienced it on New Years, but I’m just now getting around to it. Whether you believe in reincarnation, or you’re a skeptic, you should still give my story a read because it’s interesting either way.
I will start by saying that I don’t necessarily believe in reincarnation, but I don’t necessarily disbelieve it either. I think the universe works in mysterious ways, and even with advancement in science, we still don’t and will probably never have it completely figured out. Nobody really knows what happens after death because they’re dead and can’t tell us. Even people who have had near death experiences and are certain there is an afterlife, it could just be the DMT molecule in the brain causing them to hallucinate. Who really knows? With that said, let me go ahead and jump into my past life regression experience.
It all started with me watching YouTube videos of other people sharing their past life stories. As I’ve said, I’m skeptical, but I’m also intrigued. That’s when I stumbled upon a video titled “Hypnosis for Past Life Regression“. I thought to myself, “Can you really undergo hypnosis from a YouTube video?” I thought for sure you would need to pay to see a professional hypnotherapist for this sort of thing. I read the comments first, and it appeared people were having results from the video. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try just to see what would come of it.
The video is an hour long, so obviously you have to be dedicated or you won’t get anywhere with it. You also want to make sure there is no noise or distractions around. I’m a night owl, and I played the video around 2 am, so obviously that wasn’t a problem for me. I had never been under hypnosis before, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I always imagined it would be like being asleep and that you would be totally unaware of your surroundings. It’s not like that at all. After the whole thing was said and done, I actually did more research on hypnosis, and it turns out everything I was feeling is completely the norm for being hypnotized, so I do know the hypnosis actually worked. Here’s how it went down.
The entire first (approx) 40 minutes of the video is just guided meditation to get your mind and body relaxed and to get you into that hypnotized state. You don’t just jump right into the past life stuff, you have to prepare your mind and body for it first. The entire time this was going on, I was still fully aware of my current consciousness. I knew who I was, where I was, and what I was doing. However, my body became so relaxed that it was almost like it didn’t exist. I could still feel my body to an extent, and it would feel heavy at times and light as a feather at other times, but it was like I couldn’t move my body at all. I was truly just in my mind at this point.
Then we started to get to the point of the regression. It starts by guiding you to replay memories in your mind throughout your life. You start with recent memories, then ones from five years ago, ten years ago, fifteen years ago, etc. until you are back to your earliest memories from childhood. Then you are directed to start playing memories from a previous life. It’s not like watching a movie. Everything sort of flashed around to different points, and I only really got glimpses at the most. It’s basically like flashbacks.
I looked down at my feet as I was walking along a cobblestone road. I could tell by my shoes and the dress I was wearing (which was one like in the above photo) that I was in the 19th century (around the late 1800’s). My name was Elizabeth, I was around 20 years old, and I could tell by the architecture around me that I was somewhere in Europe. A man on a horse drawn carriage came about and stopped where I was. He said hello, and we were both all smiles. This was where I first met my soon to be husband. I then flashed to myself giving birth in my home. I had a son! Then I flashed to a few years later when my son was three years old. We had just walked outside when I see a gun pointed directly at me, and before I really knew what was going on, the trigger was pulled. I knew it was a man who shot me, but I wasn’t exactly sure who. The next thing I remember is feeling like I was floating out of my body, and I see a crowd of people start to gather around me, and my son standing there crying.
I have no idea if any of this really happened, or if it was just my mind imagining these scenarios in my relaxed state. Kind of like dreaming, but while you’re still awake. I really don’t know. I know other people have done these and were able to find evidence of their past life personas online. Seeing how this was two centuries ago, I don’t even know how I would go about trying to find anything.
Either way, this was definitely a unique experience and one I won’t soon forget. Whether it’s real or not, I still think it’s a testament to what the human mind is capable of doing.
Please share your thoughts on reincarnation, hypnosis, and/or past life regression in the comments. I would love to hear your thoughts! I also linked the video above in case you want to try it for yourself.
