I really shouldn’t have, but I did. BH Cosmetics recently had a good sale that I couldn’t pass up, so I bought myself some new goodies. Time to show you guys what I got! I haven’t tried the products yet except for the lip creams and the foundation, so I can’t really say what I think of most of the products yet. I have several other palettes from BH Cosmetics that I absolutely love though, so hopefully these live up to that. I definitely plan to do some makeup looks soon using some of these products, so keep your eye out for those.

Halloween Makeup Look: Betelgeuse

Time for Halloween look #2! The previous look I did, I primarily used eyeshadows. With this look, I primarily used face paint. The great thing about these face paints is that they wash right off with a little bit of water, so the cleanup was easy.

I’ve been wanting to do a Beetlejuice inspired look from the beginning, but I was hesitant to do one since it seems like so many people are doing them this year for some reason. I don’t really like to be trendy or jump on the bandwagon, I like to just do my own thing. However, since I was planning on doing a look like this for a while, I decided to go ahead with it. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, although it is a bit sloppy in places. My line work isn’t the best, but I have very little experience with this kind of thing, so I guess it’s not too bad for a beginner.

Halloween Makeup Look: Hybrid

small

It’s officially October! You know what that means? Halloween! Yes, Halloween is all month long, not just one day. To celebrate, I plan to do some different Halloween makeup looks all month long. My goal is to do one a week, but I’m not entirely sure that will work out. If not, I at least I want to do three looks this month.

This is my first one. I figured I would start off with something less creepy and more dreamy. I call this look “Hybrid” because it’s kind of a cross between an alien and a clown. I used an app to change my hair and eye colors just to enhance the look a little bit, and add to its fantasy factor. It’s a little sloppy, but I didn’t have any wigs or colored contacts.

For the makeup, I used a combination of eyeshadow, face paint, highlighter, glitter, and white eyeliner and mascara. Overall, I think this look turned out okay. I really didn’t have a plan or an idea of what I wanted to do. I just started putting color on my face and went from there.

September Glam Bag

This glam bag was definitely better than last month’s bag, which I’m happy about. There was some small disappointment with shade selections though, which Ipsy is notorious for. I will get into that in a bit.

The bag
I’m not a big fan of this bag, although it has grown on me a little bit. I just feel like the last couple bags have been pretty boring, like not much thought or planning went into the design. I do like the quote on the inside of the bag though.

August Glam Bag

This was my first glam bag in three months. I put my Ipsy subscription on hold back when I was going through the process of buying my house and moving, and I needed to save some money. I decided to reactivate this month because I like the excitement of finding out what products I’m getting each month, and I kind of missed that. Of course, I’m generally left disappointed though, and I end up wondering why I still subscribe. This month wasn’t really any different.

MILK Blur + Set VoxBox

I received another VoxBox from Influenster, this time with a product from Milk Makeup. I had heard of the brand, but I had not yet tried any of their products, so I was excited to be able to try something of theirs. This box only contained one product, which was the Blur + Set Matte Loose Setting Powder. I received the Translucent Light shade, which was right for my skin tone. I was happy that I received the correct shade this time so I could accurately try it. I received a makeup product in a previous box that was suited for a darker skinned girl, so I couldn’t really give a fair opinion on it.

The Blur + Set powder retails for $29 and is vegan, cruelty free, and talc free. The product is described as blurring pores, imperfections, and fine lines. It cuts shine, locks in makeup all day, and smooths skin.

Makeup Look: Galaxy Goth vs. Galaxy Glam

The other night I got bored and was playing around with my NYX Love You So Mochi: Electric Pastels palette, which is one of my favorite shadow palettes. There is some fallout with this palette, but the colors are beautiful and well pigmented, which is why I love it so much. The colors also work very well together and blend nicely.

I did this look at night, so of course I didn’t have the benefit of natural light to truly capture it. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out though. After I do an eye look, sometimes I like to switch up the lips because it can really change the vibe of the look. The first lip color I started out with was NYX Cosmic Metals lip cream in shade Galactic. Then I switched to ColourPop Ultra Matte lip in shade Viper.

Which of these looks do you like the best? Make sure you let me know in the comments!
