Here are my thoughts on this months Ipsy Glam Bag.
The bag itself: This month Ipsy was sending out three different bags instead of just one. I was curious as to which one I would get, and they actually sent me the one I liked the best. The other two said Peace Love Lipstick and Wild & Free. Although I would have been fine with any of them, but I just liked the purple and pink gradient color of this bag best.
AURORA Concealer (in shade Pale Ecru): Not a fan of this concealer at all. I tried using it on blemishes as well as dark circles under my eye. It provided very little coverage. It seemed to become somewhat translucent as it dried.
Crown Brush: This is a nice brush, but I already have a very similar one, so I didn’t really need it. I’ve been using it to apply highlighter.
theBALM Eyeshadow (in shade Kuwakaribisha): This is a very pale shade, which basically blends in with my skin, so I can’t use it as an eyeshadow. It works okay as a highlighter, but I already have multiple highlighters in this same shade.
EYEKO Black Magic Mascara: This mascara is okay. I didn’t really find anything special about it. I’ve used better mascara’s that made my lashes look longer and thicker.
Vitamasques Face Food Yoghurt Masks (Strawberry and Kiwi Fruit): I love these! I love face masks in general, but I thought these were nice. It has a nice fruity smell without being too strong, and I really liked the yogurt-like texture. It felt soothing on my skin, and my face felt smooth and hydrated after rinsing it off.
Overall: Ipsy definitely let me down this month. The only products I was excited to try was the face masks. Everything else I could have done without. When looking at the August product selection that they were choosing from, there were many other items I would have loved to have received. Hopefully I will enjoy next months bag more.
I’ve seen this going around on a few blogs, and blogger Kittyp0p has nominated anyone who’s interested to also participate.
The rules are to thank your tagger and link their blog, be truthful when answering the questions, and don’t judge others. Feel free to add any body positivity related questions, and nominate as many people as you can to spread the love and acceptance and self-worth/esteem boost.
One (or more) features you love about yourself:
My eyes. I have central heterochromia, so while the majority of my iris is blue, the pupil is outlined in a hazel color. I especially like the way they light up in the sunlight.

I bought some new stuff from Ulta the other day, so I figured I would make a post and let you guys know my thoughts about each of these products.
Pacifica Salty Waves Spray
I’ve liked most Pacifica products that I’ve tried, so I was excited to try this. Unfortunately this spray doesn’t seem to do much of anything for me. The only good thing I can say about it is that it helps give your hair some volume so it isn’t laying so flat, and it doesn’t leave your hair feeling crunchy or gross. However, it did not give my hair waves of any kind. I tried this spray on damp hair and then blow drying, I tried it on dry hair, and I tried it on soaking wet hair and let it dry naturally without brushing. No matter what I did, my hair was still just as straight as it always is. If you’re wondering about the smell, it’s a very mild scent. I get a slight whiff of banana when I spray it on, but it’s hardly noticeable.
NYX BB Cream
This product is not new to me. I’ve been using it regularly for over a year now in place of foundation, and I love it. It moisturizes and feels much lighter on my face than foundation does. I also find that it works just as well to cover up blemishes and even out my skin tone.

I just got back from vacationing in Florida, so I’m exhausted. I’ve been awake since 3:15 am this morning because I had an hour drive to the airport and an early flight back home. I’m going to make a post about my trip in a day or so when I gain some energy back. I just wanted to do a quick post since it’s been a little while since my last one.
I’ve been a subscriber to Ipsy for a little over a year now. It’s fun seeing what products are selected for you each month and getting a chance to try some new things. I got my July bag a couple weeks ago, but I just haven’t gotten around to posting about it yet. I think each month I will share what I got in my bag and my thoughts on it.
Here are my thoughts on this month’s Ipsy bag.

Today was Independence Day for us Americans, and I can still hear fireworks going off as I type this. Despite having a stale Cheeto as President, it’s still important to have pride in your country and remember its history.
I decided to spend part of the day at the Antietam National Battlefield in Sharpsburg, Maryland. I haven’t been there since I was a kid, despite it being so close, so I thought it would be cool to drop by and take some pictures.
Independence Day and the Battle of Antietam are two different things that happened in different months and different years, but I just somehow ended up there today. The Battle of Antietam was part of the Civil War and took place on September 17, 1862. It’s one of the bloodiest single days in America’s history. Over 22,000 soldiers, between the Union and the Confederacy, were killed or wounded.
It called for rain today, but luckily it held out until later on. The sky was dark in places, though, which actually made for some pretty pictures.

This is not a sponsored post. I purchased the products with my own money and would like to review them for anyone who might be interested.
I first heard of Overtone a few months ago when I saw an ad on facebook. I was instantly intrigued. Hair conditioner that actually colors your hair at the same time? Sign me up! It almost seemed too good to be true, but I wanted to find out.
I went to their website to check out the different selections they offer. They have a variety of colors to choose from, and each color comes in Pastel, Vibrant, or Extreme. Pastel obviously being the lightest shade, Extreme the brightest, and Vibrant somewhere in the middle. You can then choose if you want to get your choice of color in the Deep Treatment, the Daily Conditioner, or both. The Deep Treatment is recommended if you want to deposit color into your hair. The Daily Conditioner is used after you’ve already got color in your hair and want to help keep it from fading.
The makers of Overtone say that the colors show up on medium brown to lighter hair, so you don’t even need to bleach your hair first. Of course the lighter your hair is to begin with, the better the color will show up. If you have dark blonde to brown hair, the Extreme would probably be best for you. My natural color is dark blonde, but I currently have my hair highlighted, which makes it about a medium blonde. I ended up choosing the Vibrant for myself.

Women have been wearing makeup for a long time now. That’s nothing new. However, now that we’re living in a more digital age, it’s even easier for us to alter our appearance. Many social media sites are full of filtered photos and faces full of makeup. It started with models being photoshopped in magazines, and now it’s everywhere on the internet. We know it’s not what these people truly look like, yet we somehow get caught up in it and start to feel a little down about our own appearance.
It doesn’t help matters when you struggle with skin problems, but everywhere you look you see people with flawless skin. Of course, not everyone has perfect skin. Most people just cover it up. There’s also those stupid “This is why you take her swimming on the first date” or “This is why I have trust issues” memes that suggest that women with skin issues are ugly without makeup.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing makeup or retouching photos to make them look better, but I do think it’s important for people to see what’s behind all that. I want people to know that if they’re self-conscious of how their skin looks, they’re not alone. I’m not going to lie, I hate looking at myself in the mirror when I don’t have makeup on. I will not leave the house or let anyone see me without makeup on, except for my mother. I do know that there are many people with even worse skin than mine, but I still can’t help wanting to hide it. This is taking a lot of courage for me to post these photos, but I’m doing it because I want to bring more awareness to the issues that many people face.
