Today’s post is a little bit different from what I usually post here on my blog, but I am super excited about this one! I am pretty much obsessed with food, and yet I am not skilled at cooking, and I’m basically the queen of takeout and frozen meals. Rarely do I ever prepare my own food. I usually order food and go pick it up, or I just pop something in the microwave for several minutes and voila. Most of what I eat on a daily basis is not exactly healthy, and some type of meat is usually included. I’ve wanted to do something like this for a while, and I finally decided to go for it.
I thought it would be a fun experiment to step outside of my comfort zone, at least for one day. Not only would I be preparing all of my own meals, but each meal would be vegan. It sounds easy enough, right? For someone like myself, who never thinks about what I’m putting into my body and just eats whatever I’m hungry for, this took quite a bit of planning and dedication on my part.
I recently found out about vegan testing, which checks for possible nutrient deficiencies you might encounter if you decide to switch your diet. You can also test for animal-based allergies to see if removing animal products from your diet is the better choice for you. Sometimes we get headaches and/or stomach cramps and not think much about it, but we could have an allergy to something we are consuming, yet never even realize it. The tests at HealthLabs.com are a great way to discover what works with your body. If you’re interested in trying one of these kits, use my code: SURREALISTIQUE25 to receive 25% off all vegan testing.

Not too much has happened over the last week. I swear, I live the most boring life. I mean it’s not really boring to me because I enjoy being a reserved homebody, but I’m sure it’s probably boring to a lot of people. Some blogs I read make me a bit jealous because these bloggers lives seem so full of fun and adventure. They visit new restaurants all the time, try all kinds of amazing and versatile foods, they get to travel to different places. Even when they stay close to home, it still seems like some adventure awaits them. I feel like there’s nothing much to do where I live, hardly any sights to see, and I’ve always been a bit of a recluse.

It has been three months since the last time I did one of these posts. Oops. If you’re new here, it’s basically just a picture post that showcases some of the photos I’ve taken and things I’ve been up to within the last week.
Not too much has been happening this past week. I’m still getting settled in my new house, but it already has such a cozy vibe. I still need to hang things on the wall though. I ordered some wall decals today to put up in the kitchen, so I can’t wait to get them. I want the kitchen decor to be retro/diner style, so hopefully it turns out okay.
The basement is still just a storage space for now until I’m able to buy what I need to turn half of it into a little movie room. I wish I could do it right away, but I’m just not able to at the moment, so I keep telling myself to be patient.

When I did my Fast Food Thoughts & What I Order post, I never imagined it would be one of my most popular blog posts so far. It was just something quick and fun I did, but I’m glad you all enjoyed it. I thought I would do a little spinoff and post items from the same fast food places that you would likely never find me ordering.
Hotcakes & McGriddles
I do like pancakes, but I can only eat a small portion or else they make me really nauseous. There would be no point in me ordering hotcakes, in which you get several, when I wouldn’t be able to eat more than one. McGriddles are somewhat okay, but you wouldn’t find me ordering any because I will always opt for the McMuffin instead.

I didn’t do one of these posts last week, but like I said I probably won’t do them every week because sometimes I don’t take that many photos. It really just depends. This post will feature some photos I took from last weekend to this weekend, plus some tidbits about what I’ve been up to. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you might have already seen some of these.
Last Friday, after I got home from work, I decided to have some fun with the Huji Cam app. It’s one of my favorite apps. It’s a camera that you can take photos with, and as soon as you snap a photo it will say “developing”. Then it will go into the “lab” which is a photo album inside of the app. You can view the photos there and decide to save them or delete them. The app automatically and randomly applies different colors, light leaks, grain, etc. to give photos a disposable camera effect. You don’t get to choose the end result of the photo since it randomizes the effects as soon as you snap the photo, but I think that’s part of the fun.
