ColourPop: Ultra Glossy Lip in shade Ipsy VIP
While I absolutely love ColourPop’s creamy highlighters, I was not impressed with their matte lip creams that I’ve tried. So when I received this Ultra Glossy Lip in my bag, I wasn’t sure what to think. I do think it’s better than their matte lip creams, but it’s still not one of my most favorite items. The shade is wonderful, and it’s slightly creamy and not too sticky, which is good. I think my main issue is that I just hardly ever wear glosses anymore.
Tarte: Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara
This is the second month in a row that Ipsy sent me a mascara, so I wasn’t too thrilled about it. I do like the Tarte brand though, but I am not overly impressed with this mascara. It does not seem to make my lashes look as long or as thick as certain other mascara’s I’ve used. (In case you’re wondering, my current favorite mascara is Smashbox X-Rated).
Z Skin: Acne Spot Treatment
I love the fact that this is all natural. It features ingredients such as almond, tea tree, and witch hazel. I’ve used this on some of my blemishes, and they were completely dried up over night.
SKINFOOD: Egg White Perfect Pore Cleanser
I was excited to get this in my bag because I’ve heard of Skinfood and was wanting to try some of their products. This cleanser is just okay though. It removes makeup pretty well, but it doesn’t have the greatest smell. It’s not a bad smell either, it just smells really soapy. It’s also supposed to help minimize pores, but I haven’t noticed a difference in mine, and I’ve been using it for a week now.
Pixi by Petra: Blush in shade Beach Rose
I really like this brand. I got one of their lipsticks in my bag quite a while ago, and it’s one of my favorites. Though I wasn’t super excited to get this blush because it’s practically identical to one I already own. However, it is a pretty nice product. It blends really well on the skin for a flawless finish.
I stumbled upon this tag from Rooting Branches, and since I grew up watching Buffy and it’s one of my all-time favorite shows, I figured I would participate. Anyone else is welcome to participate as well. The slayer graphic is also from her blog.

There’s still a little less than a week left until the Autumnal Equinox, but I am getting really excited for Fall and could not resist dressing up and doing a Fall makeup look. I started out with clear gloss on my lips and then vamped it up a bit with a darker lip color. The main items I used included BH Cosmetics’ Wild & Radiant Palette, Makeup Revolution’s Love the Revolution palette, and ColourPop’s Matte Lip Cream in shade Viper, which are pictured below. Other items I used that aren’t pictured include NYX BB Cream in shade Nude, Makeup Revolution’s Eye Primer, Makeup Revolution’s Pro Base Blur Primer, Chella’s Tantalizing Taupe Eyebrow Cream, Ciaté London’s Wonderwand Gel Kohl Eyeliner, Tarte’s Lights Camera Lashes Mascara, Maybelline’s Shine Sensational Gloss, and ColourPop’s Highlighter in shade Glazed.

Some people seem to think that roll-on essential oils are like perfumes. That is not the case. In fact, I really only smell the oils for a very short time after applying them, and then I can’t smell them anymore. They actually work by penetrating your skin. You apply them to pulse points, such as your wrist, temples, neck, and even the bottoms of your feet. Since pure essential oils are really strong and are not supposed to be put on your skin, they are diluted with a carrier oil (such as coconut oil), which you can rub on your skin. Your body then absorbs the natural oils which can have physical and mental benefits.
There are the skeptics who think that essential oils are pointless, but I personally like them and think they have benefited me by using them. Of course, they’re not a miracle cure by any means, but I think they can be helpful to an extent. Below are five of my favorite blends I like to use, all purchased from one of my favorite Etsy shops, Mythic Mist.

I bought this Peter Thomas Roth mask sampler set from Ulta quite a while ago. Considering if you buy one of these full-size masks solo, they run anywhere from $50 to $80 USD. This sampler set only cost $25, which is an awesome deal! It allows you to try out the different masks to see how you like each of them. Despite the tubes being small sample sizes, this set can still last you a while. I’ve had this set about 4 or 5 months now and I’ve only used about half out of each tube. Even though I like some more than others, I will probably just purchase this sampler set again once I run out. Below is info on each mask in the set and what I think about them.

I just spent the evening doing something I haven’t done in a while. I got out my canvas paper and oil pastels, and I decided to spend the night drawing. I think it’s been about a year since my last drawing. While it is something I enjoy doing, I don’t really do it very often because I don’t feel it’s something I’m good at. I look at pieces of art that other people create, and I’m seriously in awe. I’ll never be that good. In fact, that’s why I choose simple things like a moon to draw because I can’t draw anything complex. It’s also why I haven’t created any art in a year. My last drawing did not turn out that well, so I became sort of disengaged. What I realized is that you don’t have to be good at something to enjoy it. I had so much fun creating this piece of art tonight, and I think it turned out wonderful. It’s my favorite drawing yet. I decided to call it Galaxy Moon because it reminds me of the moon from space. My goal is to start drawing more often, and hopefully this also inspires you to take up a hobby that you feel you aren’t good at. All we can do is work at it and grow, but as long as we’re having fun doing it, that’s what matters.
One of my favorite things in this world is eating delicious food. This is hard to pick just five things, but here are some of my five favorite foods. (All photos are mine).
Being from Maryland, it’s no surprise that blue crabs are my favorite food. My mom ate them all the time when she was pregnant with me, and I’ve been eating them since I was a little toddler. It’s really enjoyable to sit outside on a nice day and just pick and eat crabs for hours. The Old Bay seasoning makes them truly great.
I love all kinds of tacos. Crunchy shell, soft shell, beef, chicken, shrimp, or fish. They’re all delicious to me. I’m especially fond of street style tacos with cilantro and onion.
I don’t always feel the greatest after eating pizza. It tends to sometimes leave me feeling yucky, but I just can’t resist it. I love ham and pineapple pizza, and I also love to get heavily topped pizza’s with ham, italian sausage, salami, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and jalapeños.
I love hot buffalo wings. I feel like aside from the yummy taste, they’re also fun to eat. I especially like them with celery (and carrots too) and blue cheese dressing on the side.
I like different kinds of subs from different places, but my favorite is the Italian sub from a local shop here called Turtle’s. (The wings pictured above are also from Turtle’s). The rolls are super soft and fresh, and the lettuce is specially seasoned which provides a unique and delicious taste like no other.
