Christmas Day: Food & Gifts

511

Every year, my mom always wakes me up super early (between 8 and 9 am). We then open gifts, which takes us at least an hour to open. I have no idea why it takes us so long. Kitty Cameron was sitting with us while we were opening presents, and of course he was observing and sniffing everything. I got him some new treats for Christmas, and he sniffed them out before I even got them open. He gobbled them down, so he must have liked them. This was the first Christmas without kitty Chloe, since she passed away on Halloween. She used to always love playing with the wrapping paper. Cameron, surprisingly, doesn’t do that. However, he does always try to fit himself inside of the bag that we put the torn off wrapping paper in. He did that this year as well, and a piece of paper with some tape on it got stuck to his fur. He noticed right away, so he jumped out and started running around trying to get it off. I was cracking up! Cats are so silly.

Merry Christmas!

503

It’s now after midnight here, so I guess it’s officially Christmas here where I live. I just wanted to make a quick post to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and I hope your day is well. Hopefully you all get everything you wished for.

The night before Christmas Eve, my mom and I made cookies. Okay, that’s a bit of a stretch. They were just the pre-made Tollhouse cookies that you stick in the oven, and my mom made them. I did put the sprinkles on, but aside from that I was busy watching a show on the ID channel and eating mozzarella sticks and jalapeno poppers.

Christmas Treats You Should Make This Season

I was browsing around for some holiday sweets and snacks ideas, and I thought I would share some favorites that I found. I would probably go for the Christmas Tree brownies myself because those look super easy to make. Plus, I’m a sucker for brownies. I wish I could make everything on this list though. Everything looks so good, and now I’m super hungry.

Festive Bath Bombs for the Holiday Season

I just love seasonal items because it’s something you generally only get at certain times of the year, which makes it more fun and enjoyable. One of my favorite things to enjoy is a nice bath bomb. I decided to do some browsing on Etsy and thought I would share what looks like some awesome finds for this holiday season.

Peppermint Cocoa from Wylde Thyme Bath
How amazing does this sound? Chocolate and peppermint with a dash of vanilla. It also has bubble frosting on top that bubbles while the bomb fizzes.

The Christmas Tag

christmastag

I keep seeing this tag floating around, and it looks super cool so I’ve decided to participate. Each post I see seems to have a different variation of questions in it, so I’m just going to pick some of the questions I’ve seen and create my own variation also.

What is your favorite Christmas movie?
Home Alone

Do you dress up for Christmas or do you stay in your pajamas?
Sometimes I do dress up on Christmas Eve. Nothing fancy though. I usually just wear something red or try to do festive makeup. If I stay home on Christmas Day, then I just stay in my pajamas all day, usually.

Have you ever had a White Christmas?
A few times, but it has been a while. Most of our snow comes in January and February.

What is your favorite Christmas song?
“Carol of the Bells” is my favorite. There’s also a couple dubstep remixes that use the tune of that song that I really love called Home Alone and Scary Christmas. Lindsey Stirling (She’s amazing!) also just posted a beautiful violin rendition.

‘Tis the Season

437

We put up the Christmas tree on Thanksgiving night. We used to put it up on Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, but we had to work since we had our holiday taken away this year. We only have one of those little trees because the house is not big enough to fit a full-sized tree. Even so, this thing took hours to decorate. We put all new ornaments on this year that I bought, and I think they look great. The only ornament that isn’t new is the “B” above. My aunt got that for me a couple of years ago. I love how the tree looks this year.

Uncommon Goods: Christmas Gift Ideas

Although I’m super excited for Fall activities and Halloween, I’ve already begun thinking about Christmas and brainstorming ideas of gifts that I might want to put on my Christmas list or to give to others. I generally like to do my shopping in October and November, before December even rolls around. I also prefer to do online shopping because it’s more convenient and you can find super cool items that you might not find in local stores.

I recently came across a site called Uncommon Goods, which has so many different cool items to choose from. Whether you are shopping for gifts for your mom, or trying to find something to buy for your dad (Guys always seem to be the hardest to buy for), this site definitely has something for everyone. One thing that I love about this brand is that they are cruelty free. They do not sell leather, feathered, or fur products. Another thing I love is that when you make a purchase, you get to select a non-profit organization to receive a $1 donation from them.

Below are just a few items that caught my eye.
