The Girl Behind the Green Door

691

It’s a little hard to see from the photos, but my door is green, hence the title. I closed on my house today, so it’s officially mine now! I titled this post “The Girl Behind the Green Door” as a reference to One Tree Hill, when Brooke was sometimes referred to as “The girl behind the red door”. Of course my house is nowhere near as big or extravagant as the beautiful Colonial style house that Brooke lived in, but it will do. 😉

The closing went extremely smoothly today. It took place at Olde Towne Title, which is a real estate title company in my area, and they truly did an amazing job of making the experience as enjoyable as it possibly could be. Who knew that signing a bunch of paperwork could be fun? I knew ahead of time that there would be some refreshments on the table, but I wasn’t expecting everything we got. We had water, soda’s, candy, muffins, grapes, cheese and crackers, mozzarella sticks, pizza bagel bites, taquitos, mini pigs in a blanket (hot dogs wrapped in a crescent roll), and crab ragoon. Everything tasted so good! You know I love some free food. They even gave me the leftovers to bring home. The muffins were so moist and delicious, and I’m not even a big sweets person.

Neighbor Drama, Already!

669

If you’ve read my previous post, you know the exciting news about me buying my first home. I’m not moved in yet. Hell, I haven’t even gone to settlement yet. This is all supposed to occur next month. However, I’ve already had a situation with the neighbor, which I’m going to vent and tell you all about.

I had to go to my home today for the inspection. (It went well and there’s no major issues). My mom came with me, and my realtor met us there, along with the inspector. As soon as we pulled up, we see a man coming out of the residence next door and onto my porch trying to look into my house. We both had a WTF reaction. My mom rolls the window down and says, “Can I help you? Are you looking for someone?” He said he saw someone go into the house and knows that nobody lives there, so he was checking it out. My mom mentions how I am buying the house and that it was the inspector who just went inside. That alone made me think this neighbor was intrusive and a little kooky.

Turning the Page To A New Chapter

668

I’ve got some big news! It’s part of why I haven’t been as active as usual. I wasn’t even going to write this post tonight because I’m currently sick, yet again. (My second time in two months). I should be in bed resting right now, but I wanted to share my exciting news with you all. If you follow me me on Twitter or Instagram, you may have already seen my posts about this.

Magenta

I had Friday off work because I had to wake up at 5:30 am to take my mom to a medical appointment. She was being put under anesthesia, so she couldn’t drive. I’m usually just going to sleep between 4 and 5 am, so I wasn’t too happy about this. I had requested the day off work (even though I’m not scheduled until 2 pm) because I figured afterwards I would come home and sleep most of the day.

Surprisingly, I didn’t feel much like going to sleep once I got home. I drank an energy drink and then I decided to go get my hair done because it really needed it. I didn’t really know for sure what I wanted done, so I kind of just made up my mind when I got there. I was thinking about just getting my blonde touched up, but I also mentioned possibly wanting to go pink again. My stylist was really excited about that because she said she hadn’t got to do pink hair in years. She said everyone seems to want blue or purple hair. I actually did almost go blue too, but I decided against it since when it fades it usually leaves a greenish tint to your hair.

Weekly Photo Roundup #2

609

I didn’t do one of these posts last week, but like I said I probably won’t do them every week because sometimes I don’t take that many photos. It really just depends. This post will feature some photos I took from last weekend to this weekend, plus some tidbits about what I’ve been up to. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you might have already seen some of these.

Last Friday, after I got home from work, I decided to have some fun with the Huji Cam app. It’s one of my favorite apps. It’s a camera that you can take photos with, and as soon as you snap a photo it will say “developing”. Then it will go into the “lab” which is a photo album inside of the app. You can view the photos there and decide to save them or delete them. The app automatically and randomly applies different colors, light leaks, grain, etc. to give photos a disposable camera effect. You don’t get to choose the end result of the photo since it randomizes the effects as soon as you snap the photo, but I think that’s part of the fun.

Mexican Food & Bluegrass

573

This post is going to be a journal entry of sorts. I don’t do too many of these simply because my life is pretty boring. However, every once in a while I might find something to write about. I know I like to personalize my blog a bit so you can get to know me and my interests better, as opposed to just being another beauty blog.

I probably love food more than anything else. On my days off work, I usually spend half the day just eating. It’s funny that I love food as much as I do since I have IBS (a gastrointestinal disorder), so sometimes I’m in a great deal of pain or discomfort just from eating. I love eating out at restaurants too, but it usually makes me nervous because I’m always worried the food will cause a flare-up before I’m able to make it home.

My Time in the Rave Scene

566

I was in the rave scene for two years. It is a time in my life that I look back on very fondly, and I’m really glad I got to experience it. I thought I would share some of my photos and memories with you.

I attended my first rave on December 31st, 2010/January 1st, 2011. I had known about raves for some time before then and always longed to go to one. However, the nearest raves to where I live are an hour and a half away in Baltimore and Washington D.C. I always had to rely on someone else to drive because I get bad anxiety and won’t drive anywhere that I’m not familiar with.
